Izola May Williams

May 17, 1929 – December 30, 2020

Izola May (Newman) Williams, 91, of Kerrville, went to heaven on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. Zola lived her last four years in Missouri with her granddaughter, surrounded by great- and great-great-grandchildren who all called her Ama. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Newman Cemetery, located at 752 Kreutzberg Road in Boerne, Texas.

Izola May Newman was born May 17, 1929, in Boerne, Texas, to George G. and Viola Agnes Newman. She was married to Louis Felix Williams on December 10, 1945, and had one child,  Louis Henry Williams, on April 24, 1947.

Zola enjoyed crossword puzzles, cryptograms and Western novels and movies. She loved to go on adventures and to go camping. Zola worked as a personal assistant for over 40 years, then greeted hundreds at Luby’s, Cracker Barrel and Walmart. She was a gem who loved her family deeply. A kinder person you would be hard-pressed to find. Zola never said a bad word against anyone nor ever held any ill will.

Zola is survived by her son, Louis Williams and his wife, Susan, of Kerrville, Texas; her granddaughter, Marci Schilling and her wife, Jacque, of Kansas City, Missouri; her honorary grandson, James Richard Williams of Dallas, Texas; her great-grandchildren, Raymond Leach and wife Tiffany, of Terlton, Oklahoma, Kristin Moore and husband Eden of Kansas City, Jessica Dismukes and husband Zack of Clinton Township, Michigan, and Cody Dugan of Kansas City; and her great-great-grandchildren, Rozi, Aubree, Jacee, Enya, Draedyn, Zedta, Jarren, Kira, Eli, Mayson and Raven. Zola truly loved spending time with her babies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Roy “Tex” Newman, Henry “Hank” Newman and George Newman; her sisters, Mildred Stevens and Agnes Reinhard; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude toward Danielle and Francie Wilson of Kansas City, Joni Jo Newman of New Braunfels and David Vaughan for their love and assistance during our families heartbreaking loss. Also thanks to everyone who took the time to call, pray and express their love during this difficult time.

Ama will be as deeply missed as she was deeply loved. She was our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, keeper of our secrets and best friend. May she forever be remembered with a loving heart.
