We lost our very sweet angel, LaNell Mangold Day, at the age of 61 on June 13, 2022, after a long battle with multiple myeloma cancer. LaNell was born on September 10, 1960, in San Antonio, Texas, to Deacon Clayton A. Mangold and Macell E. Mangold. On April 26, 1986, she married Brad Day, and they had a fantastic 36 years of marriage together. They raised two amazing sons, Nathan and Brandon.
LaNell graduated Ursuline Academy High School in 1978 and received her bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Texas San Antonio in 1991.
LaNell had a passion for animals of all types — she even considered at one point becoming a veterinarian. She also loved to work with the student counseling department, especially student records and academic achievement during her 18 years with the Alamo Community Colleges District as a Senior Application Programmer/ Analyst.
