Lee Agnes Dunkin Gobernatz, 78, of Boerne, Texas , entered into Heaven at 4:43 a.m. on April 17, 2023. She was born October 17, 1944, to Raymond and Abilene Dunkin in Potent, Texas. Lee, devoted wife and mother is survived by her husband, Anthony Gobernatz Jr. “Tony” and son, Anthony Gobernatz III. Upon graduation from R.L. Paschal High School, Lee married Tony the love of her life on May 5, 1963. Lee had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation and her smile was infectious to everyone around her. Raising her son and the time they had in Boy Scouts was cherished. She devoted years teaching life skills as a Scout leader to children. Obtaining a Master of Library Science degree from Texas Women’s University was one of her greatest scholarly achievements. Her intelligence allowed her to work as an Engineering Assistant with UL Laboratories in Washington. Her adventurous spirit took her around the world learning about many different cultures. She loved reading, boating, being with friends and family, yoga, volunteering, ironing, listening to Latin music, sipping tequila and spending her evenings with Tony watching the hummingbirds and deer at sunset from their back porch. Lee aka Dude was a truly remarkable women whose impact will be forever felt by her family and friends, who loves her dearly. Her passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of her loved ones. A Celebration of Life luncheon and service will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on May 6th at the Gobernatz home, 13 Camp Alzafar Road; Boerne, TX 78006. Donations in her memory can be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
