Marlene Elizabeth McGinnis (nee Kraus), loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and so much to so many, entered life eternal on March 17, 2019, at her home in Boerne. Born Nov. 23, 1932, in St. Louis, Missouri, Marlene was the first child born to John and Nellie Kraus, who would add six more to that number.

She married her high school classmate, Jack Lee McGinnis, with whom she would spend a colorful life full of personal, family and business achievements and create a home that fostered trust, honesty and loyalty for her children and the many who felt at home near her.

To define Marlene would have to include the words unconditional love as she showed that to all. Marlene was preceded to the life eternal by the love of her life, Jack Lee McGinnis, her parents John and Nellie Kraus, her brother Francis Denny Kraus, and by her best friend Josephine English. She is survived by her loving children, daughter Donna McGinnis Grayson, son Ronald Nelson McGinnis and wife Suzanne, son Jack Lee McGinnis Jr. and wife Natalie, son Kevin Patrick McGinnis and wife Leslie, son Robin Lee McGinnis and wife Rena; dear friends Pat Fermoile and Bobby Bartlett. In addition, she is survived by 14 grandkids and 10 great grandkids. Marlene is also survived by her dear sister Janet Willcox, brother John Wayne Kraus and wife Katy, brother Terry Kraus and wife Becca, sister Sharon Buchanan and husband Gary, and brother Jim Kraus and wife Stacey. Her brothers and sisters were always more than siblings.

Marlene is being interred at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio. In lieu of flowers or any honorarium, Marlene would be most honored if you show love in any way you deem appropriate to your family and those that you love.
