Norma J. Eckel Lively

March 18, 1949 – June 8, 2021 

 

With great sadness, Norma J. Eckel Lively, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Norma was born March 18, 1949, to Tom and Clara Paris Eckel in Cookville, Tennessee, with Tom preceding her in death, Clara living in Greer, South Carolina.

Norma is survived by her husband, Charlie Lively of San Antonio; sister Tana and husband Kenny Leblanc of Greer, South Carolina; and brother Wayne “Rusty” Charles Eckel and his wife, Karen, of Coving, Louisiana. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Ernie Lively, and his wife, Karen, of Deming, New Mexico.

After graduating from LSU in 1971, Norma taught school in Amarillo, Texas. She then moved to Uvalde, Texas, to work with Texas Department of Health in starting up the WIC program for women and infants nutrition throughout south Texas. In August 1987, Norma and Charlie married in Boerne, Texas, and enjoyed 34 years together.

Norma enjoyed movies, cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, dining out, driving out in the country and church services.  She was also a long time Astros baseball fan.  

Go rest high on God’s mountain, your work on earth is done.

A private burial will be held at the Boerne City Cemetery.
