Robert ‘Bob’ Montgomery

February 1, 1919 – September 26, 2021

Robert Montgomery of San Antonio was called to his Lord peacefully on September 26, 2021, at 102. Born in Huckabay, Texas, on February 1, 1919, Robert was the true embodiment of a man who always “pulls himself up by his bootstraps.” The ones who found his heart of gold were the most fortunate.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nell, of 49 years and son Brandon. Also surviving him are his son, Donnie Sr.; daughter Carol; sons-in-love Erik and Stevan; and grandchildren Katherine Grace, Lillian Claire, Donnie Jr. (Melissa) and Michael. He loved and laughed with all 12 of his great-grandchildren and 12 great-great=grandchildren.

Robert worked at Kelly AFB Engine Facility, retiring in December 1985 with a total of 47 years, 11 months and 26 days.  At his core, Robert was a simple man with an unwavering, deep belief in God. His work ethic and family-first beliefs go unmatched.

Visitation is scheduled from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, Texas, 78232. A prayer service is scheduled for 2 p.m.
