Sherron Evon Artle
August 4, 1943 – April 22, 2021
On April 22, 2021 we said goodbye to our beautiful Sherron Evon Artle of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on August 4, 1943 in El Paso, Texas, where she resided for 54 years. She graduated from the University of Texas, El Paso, with a bachelor of arts degree specializing in speech and drama.
She taught high school English and speech and drama at Austin High School, where she was awarded Campus Teacher of the Year, nominated for Texas Speech Teacher of the Year,
District ULI Sweepstakes award, chairman of the Austin High School Speech and Drama Department and developed a video production curriculum for use in the district middle schools. In the summers of 1991-94 she was the media relations coordinator for Guy/Rex Miss Texas/USA Pageants. One of her roles in this position was chaperoning Miss Texas, which Sherron truly loved.
Sherron was an avid reader, loved to travel, strong Christian and beloved by so many. Our family is thankful and grateful for the Cibolo Creek Church community, Bible study friends, Canasta friends, Fair Oaks Ranch community, forever friends and the end of life care providers for their outpouring love and care of Sherron and her husband, Bob. We have been blessed and comforted. We cannot say thank you enough.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bob Artle of Fair Oaks Ranch; two sisters, Barbara Loomer and her husband, Don, (Santa Barbara, California) and Linda Ludlow (Laguna Niguel, California); sister-in-law Val Artle (Farmington, New Mexico); nephew Tom Hall and his wife, Tanya, (Encinitas California) and their three children; niece Julie Heiligenberg and her husband, Bart, and their two children (Carlsbad, California); niece Vickie Jimenez and her husband, Jim, and their four children; niece Valarie Eason and her two children; and niece Vanessa Hebert and her husband, Eric, and their two children.
A memorial service will be held on June 18, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. at Cibolo Creek Community Church, 30395 Ralph Fair Road, Fair Oaks Ranch, TX 78015.
In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting that donations can be made to the Kendal County Women's Shelter, P.O. Box 1087, Boerne, TX 78006 or at http://www.kcwstexas.org/ in honor of one of Sherron's favorite ministries.
