It seems that the Washington bureaucracy is always a day late and a dollar short. A recent Gallup poll shows 70 percent of Americans think the pandemic is over; 89 percent of Republicans think so.
Yet, just last month the feds finally offered “free” COVID test kits, but the test kits arrived in homes late, if ever. And last week they relaxed mask guidelines, somewhat. It reminds me of the lyrics to a country song – “It’s a little too late to do the right thing now.”
Voters are fed up with the Washington swamp. But what to do? Well, our Kendall County Republican voters know that local politics is the foundation of our democracy. It all starts at the local level: county, city, school board. We get involved, and we vote. We are known statewide for high turnout and well-informed voters.
