SAN ANTONIO – The fireworks started early for the Boerne High football team after McCoy Bruce took the opening kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown in Friday’s fourth-round playoff game against Calallen.
BHS was up 7-0 just 12 seconds into the game and the Greyhound never looked back from there as they went on to whip the Wildcats, 49-19, and advance to the state semifinals.
Boerne High set a BISD record with its 14th win and improves 14-0. They’ll face Chapel Hill in the state semifinals this Friday, 7 p.m., after Chapel Hill beat Kilgore on Friday.
