Boerne Champion ran into a buzzsaw called Haley Carmona Tuesday when the Chargers softball team played at New Braunfels Canyon in a district contest.
Carmona was literally unhittable after she retired 15 straight Champion batters as the Cougarettes run ruled the Chargers 11-0 in five innings.
Champion slips to 7-9 overall and 1-2 in district. They were at Kerrville Tivy on Thursday and won a close one. They host Pieper on Tuesday. For results of Thursday’s game, see the Wednesday online edition of the Boerne Star.
