Champion boys shut out another opponent

The Boerne Champion boys soccer team picked up its eighth shutout of the season when the Chargers blanked Veterans Memorial last Friday.

Champion won the contest 4-0 and improved to 10-1-2 overall and 7-1-1. Five of the seven district wins for the Chargers have come via the shutout. Champion hosted New Braunfels Canyon Tuesday and will host Kerrville Tivy on Friday.

The Chargers were up 3-0 at halftime and then closed it out with a goal in the second half.
