A fast start helped the Champion baseball team get past Veterans Memorial during Tuesday’s district contest in Boerne.

The Chargers tallied 7 runs in the first and then added 3 more in the second and third frames for 13 runs in its first three at bats. Champion didn’t score after the third inning but didn’t have to as they went on to defeat the Patriots, 13-7.

Champion is 15-4-1 overall and 3-0 in district. They played at Veterans Memorial Friday to close out their series. They’ll tangle with New Braunfels Canyon twice next week, with Tuesday’s game at NBC and Friday at home.
