Geneva’s hopes of a state championship in girls basketball came up short Friday in Waco after the Eagles were defeated by Dallas Christian in the TAPPS 4A title tilt.

The Dallas Christian Chargers defeated Geneva School of Boerne, 41-27, to win its second TAPPS state title in a row, while the Eagles finish the season at 29-6.

Friday’s battle featured a matchup of the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the state.
