The Comfort Bobcats hosted La Vernia on Tuesday night and fell to the Bears, 54-37. Comfort is 13-8 overall and hosts Davenport on Friday.
La Vernia was up by double digits after the first quarter, 17-7, and then outscored the Bobcats in the second, 11-7, for the 28-14 halftime lead.
Comfort had its best scoring quarter of the night in the third and tallied 15 to beat what they had in the first half, but La Vernia kept it close and dropped in 13 to take a 41-29 advantage into the fourth quarter.
