The Champion girls soccer team didn’t win many of the statistical battles during Friday’s first-round playoff match against Leander Rouse, but they won the one that matters most – the scoreboard.
Even though Rouse was the higher seed (1 vs. 4), playing at home, took more shots (14 vs. 8) and had more shots on goal (10 vs. 6), it was Lady Chargers that came away with a 2-0 victory.
Champion improves to 10-11-1 overall and played Medina Valley on Tuesday in the sec- ond round at Gustafson Stadium.
