With a playoff spot already in its back pocket and not a real chance to move up in the district standings, the Champion girls soccer team is focused on improving in its final three matches of the regular season.
The Lady Chargers hosted Pieper on Tuesday and suffered a 3-1 loss to the second- place team in the district but played them well.
Champion is 6-5-1 in 26-5A and visited first-place Smithson Valley (12-0) on Friday before closing out the regular season Monday afternoon at home against Seguin. They’ll open the playoffs after spring break.
