Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort recently named a new Director of Golf after Pat Roper accepted the position.
Roper grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, where he began to play golf in the 7th grade. His father helped him to develop a love for the game by encouraging him through lessons and playing with his brother. When Roper visits his family in Arizona, they are sure to get a family game in together.
Roper started his golf career at The Legend at Arrowhead in Glendale, Arizona in 1991. After a few years, he joined Troon Golf at Troon North Golf Club, eventually moving on to Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In 2000, Roper and his then fiancé (now wife) took an opportunity to move to the San Diego area and work at Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad, California.
Roper worked there for 13 years (the final two years as Head Golf Professional). In December 2013, Roper and his wife decided to make the great state of Texas home and transferred to the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Golf Club in San Antonio, as Head Golf Professional.
The Hyatt has many similarities to Tapatio Springs, including an active golf membership and a resort component. Roper brings a wealth of talent and experience to his new position as Director of Golf.
Roper and his lovely wife Christine, have been married for 18 years and have two amazing kids, Aubrey (14) and Zane (8).
