Jan. 29, 1959 -- April 28, 2024

Gary “Gordo” Dean McBee passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep, at home on Sunday April 28, 2024, at the age of 65.

Gary was the oldest son of William “Bill” and Juliana “Julia” McBee (Wienecke) and was born in Kerrville, Texas, at the Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital. He spent his entire life in Boerne, Texas, a town he was proud to call home.

As a young man he found stability, confidence and success serving in the U.S. Navy as an aviation hydraulic technician before sustaining injury. He was placed in the Reserves to fulfill his four-year term and later honorably discharged.

Upon returning home he was ready to settle down and find love. Gary’s mother, Julia, introduced him to Terri Geisler and they were quickly married shortly thereafter. They immediately started building a beautiful life together and making memories with numerous people throughout our community.

Terri and Gary had an impact on so many. Their love story was incomparable. They were a dynamic duo and best friends. There is no question that they were made for each other.

Gary was a devoted family man. His family was always his top priority. Almost every person that knew him called him a “gentle giant” or a “big ol’ teddy bear.” He had a servant’s heart and always thought about others before himself.

He was kind, compassionate, funny and his big, barreling laugh was contagious. Gary had such a kind way with words and a big hug that just made you feel like everything was going to be OK. We will miss that the most.

There is peace and comfort knowing that he’s back with his sweetheart again, whom he missed immensely. Through Jesus, his health is restored and he is no longer suffering.

Gary is survived by his two daughters, Shelly Geisler and Taylor Mendick (Rodney); his three grandchildren, Aubree Allin (Shelly), Jameson and Zoey Mendick (Taylor and Rodney); his brother, William McBee (Michelle), his sister, Janet Fair (Byron), and countless nieces and nephews that he loved so much.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Juliana McBee, his beloved wife, Terri McBee, and many uncles, aunts and cousins who we are certain he was so happy to see again.

There will be a celebration of life held at the Paul Vogt Lodge, Hermann Sons Life Hall, in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, at 2 p.m. June 8, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions toward the celebration of Gary’s life and cremation expense. Your generosity in honoring his memory in this meaningful way would be deeply appreciated.
