Boerne Police Officer and Honor Guard member Cody Alderete hands a single white rose to Peggy Salazar, wife of Kendall County Probation Officer Rusty Salazar. Officer Salazar, who died Jan. 31, 2019, in the line of duty, was among six law enforcement officers — and Boerne K9 officer Chico — who were honored during the May 14 memorial ceremony, part of National Law Enforcement Week.
