Eugene C. Drisch, 87, of Boerne, Texas, died on June 7, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, Gene was a devoted husband, father, beloved grandfather and great-grandfather.
As a man of God, Gene’s faith was evident in the way he lived and loved. He shared 42 wonderful years with his wife, Judy, whom he deeply cherished. He lived his life with integrity, humility and a love for the simple pleasures — morning coffee on the porch, feeding hummingbirds and sharing his love of conversation and appreciation for the Hill Country community.
As a Marine, Gene served his country with honor before building a long, successful career in the transportation industry.
In retirement, Gene remained active, serving as a greeter at Cornerstone Church and volunteering at Kronkosky Place and Boerne Community Theater. He also worked at the Tarpley Retreat, Boerne Visitor Center and Morningside Ministries, where he was awarded the LeadingAge Texas Customer Service Award in 2012.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eugene Drisch Jr.; his mother, Molly Yarbrough; and his father, Frank Sewell.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Drisch; two daughters, Sherry (Tim) Swinney and Joy Seago; and seven grandchildren: Lauren (Derek) Brehm, Brandi (Travis) Mayorga, Ashley (Doug) Johns, Evan Andreoli, Emily Drisch, Calvin Seago and Danielle Drisch. He also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Gene’s life will be held beginning at 11 a.m. on June 17, 2025, at Cornerstone Church in San Antonio. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend.
