Boerne High defeated Medina Valley Friday night 44-20 before a homecoming crowd of 6,078.

BHS QB Grant Sweeney ran for three touchdowns and tossed two more TD passes, while Callen Combs had the opening score of the night.

Boerne went up 29-6 but the Panthers scored and then came up with a fumble and capitalized and punched in another score and the lead was down to 29-20 late in the third quarter after MV had tallied 2 TDs in a span of 1:40.

The Hounds responded with the final two scores of the night after Sweeney tossed TD passes to Will Traylor and another to Zach Freasier to wrap it up.

The Greyhounds are 2-1 and play at East Central Friday.

Geneva School of Boerne

The Eagles remain undefeated after they flew past Sabinal, 69-26, to improve to 3-0.

Caleb Quitadamo went 24 for 36 through the air for 381 yards and 5 TDs. He also ran in two more scores.

Brady Chandler finished with 189 yards on 10 catches and scored four times. Chandler also came up with two interceptions on defense for the high-flying Eagles.

Geneva is home Friday against Cypress Christian.

Comfort High

The Bobcats got into a shootout with Ingram and defeated the Warriors, 47-35.

Comfort is 3-0 and host Johnson City for homecoming Friday.

After falling behind 22-7, the Bobcats answered with four straight TDs and were up 33-22 by the end of the third quarter, and never trailed from there.

The teams traded touchdowns in the fourth quarter but the Bobcats never lost the lead.

Hunter Ledlow had a great night running the ball and finished with 184 rushing yards on 11 carries and scored three touchdowns.

Thursday- Laredo Alexander 35, Champion 28

Laredo Alexander tallied the last two touchdowns of the game and went on to defeat Boerne Champion Thursday at Boerne ISD Stadium, 35-28.

Champion had pulled ahead 28-20 after the Chargers scored late in the third quarter on a 50-yard pass from Julian Navarette to Brogan Dempsey, their second TD connection of the night.

But the visitors from Laredo tied it on a 43-yard TD pass of their own from Karlo Tenorio to Jayden Gonzalez. The Bulldogs also converted their 2-point play and it was tied 28-28.

Tenorio hooked up with Jayden Gonzalez once more, this time on a 65-yard bomb that Gonzalez took to the house for the go-ahead score with 10:31 left.

Champion didn't score after the third quarter and came up empty on its last four possessions. They punted twice, went for it on 4th down and didn't covert and then Alexander came up an interception to turn the Chargers away with 2:34 left.

The Bulldogs ran out the clock from there with a pair of first downs to hand the Chargers their first loss of the season.

Champion closes out district at 2-1 and opens district play Friday against Smithson Valley.
