JULY 19 

* RECRAFTED NATURE CLASS will be hosting a free craft class for kids from 10 a.m. to noon at Farmers Market at Herff Farm. This week’s theme is “Fairy Homes and Cardboard Crafts.” 

* THRIFTY HAPPY HOUR: Join the Hill Country Animal League from 5-9 p.m. for Thrifty Hapy Hour. Come sip wine from Lost Oak Cellars while shopping the store, as all goods are marked down, 50% off just for the occasion. Proceeds help fund spay and neuter programs. Details: hcaltx.org. 

* COMFORT BACK TO School Bash for Comfort area children affected by the flood or enrolled in the school meal program, set for 9 a.m. to noon at Comfort High School. Free backpacks and school supplies, free food, community resources and support and fun activities for kids. Sponsored by Love Kendall County Kids, at: lovekckids.org. 

* FUNKY FUNGI DANCE: Join this joyful, movement-filled dance class for kids ages 3–10 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Farmers Market at Herff Farm, 33 Herff Road. Kids bring the magical mushroom life cycle to life through dance. No prior dance experience necessary. Tickets $15 per child. 

* THE MOUNTAIN KING takes the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Boerne Community Theatre, 907 E. Blanco Road. Check out the local production of this 1876 adventure-filled drama. Tickets, $20-$24, available at boernetheatre.org. 

* MUSIC IN THE CAVE by Dr. Andrew Flory. Experience the unique “Fourteen & Six” program, featuring the theorbo and classical guitar — a one-of-a-kind experience at Cave Without A Name, 325 Kreutzberg Road. Tickets available at cavewithoutaname.com. 

* HILL COUNTRY STRONG Benefit Concert: “Escape, a Tribute to Journey,” is the first of two Hill Country Strong benefit concerts to raise funds for the Comfort Flood Relief Fund. JULY 20 

* HILL COUNTRY STRONG Thru Faith. In honor of the victims, survivors, first responders and heroes of the recent flooding, the Boerne Concert Band is performing a free fundraising concert from 7-8:30 p.m. at Main Plaza, 100 N. Main St. 

JULY 22 

* NUTRITION NUGGETS by Kera Dutton, a registered dietitian, provides a packet of information pertinent to nutrition research for aging adults. Packets available for pick up starting at 11:15 a.m. at 628 Front St. in Comfort. This month’s theme is “Varying your Protein Routine.”  

JULY 23 

* SUMMER READ ALOUD at The Boerne Bookshop, 153 S. Main St., beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Boerne Bookshop invites young readers and their families to enjoy a magical season of classic tales and enchanting adventures. Free to attend. 

JULY 24 

* HILL COUNTRY FAMILY Services hosts the “Boerne Before 9 Morning Mingle” to mark its 40th year of service to the community, at its offices at 114 W. Advogt St. in Boerne. The Greater Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon-cutting; enjoy breakfast by Chef Al; coffee for all. The event is slated to run 8:345-10 a.m. Details: hcfstx.org. 

JULY 25 

* DEVINO WINE 201, the second class in this series, covers the basics of wine etiquette. Tickets are $20, or 20% off if all three classes were purchased. Tickets available: www.eventbrite.com. Details: [email protected].  

* ONLINE SUPPORT GROUP by Hill Country Services: Partners of first responders are invited to attend this online support group to help find connection, encouragement and tools for your mental health. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Details: 210-740-5977.

JULY 26 

* SUMMER BITES with Chef Lulu Benz: Stop by Herff Farm for a lively cooking demo. From 10:30 a.m. to noon, Lulu will showcase how to create delicious, crowd-pleasing summer bites perfect for your next gathering. Tickets $15. Purchase at cibolo.org. 

* HERFF HOUSE TOURS: Step back in time with a tour of the historic Herff House at Herff Farm, an 1800s homestead, and experience the drama and wonder of early Texas life. There will be a craft activity included for kids. Herff Farms, 33 Herff Road. 

* BACK TO SCHOOL Rally from 9 a.m. to noon at the Boerne ISD Central Office. Sign up for resources you may need this upcoming school year; free school supplies; backpacks, fun games for kids; a job fair as well. At BISD, 235 Johns Road. 

* BLUEGRASS JAM: Bring your instrument and play along or just come to listen to the bluegrass jams from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. while exploring the exhibits and grounds of The AgriCultural, 102 City Park Road. Event is free to the public. 

* KUHLMANN-KING TOURS at 402 E. Blanco Road from noon to 3 p.m. Step back in time to experience and explore how a Boerne family would have lived in the late 1800s. Tours are free but any donations are always welcome.  

* ANTIQUE TRACTOR PULL “Hot Summer Nights.” Join the Antique Tractor Club of Boerne for a fun antique tractor pull at night. This event begins at 6 p.m., at the AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, 102 City Park Road. This is a free event. 

AUGUST 2 

* HILL COUNTRY STRONG Benefit Concert, a Tom Petty tribute band, is the second Hill Country Strong Benefit Concert to raise funds for the Comfort Flood Relief Fund. Tickets are $35. Contact: [email protected], or: www.singingwater.com
