BOERNE — Sandi Killo steps in as the new Adviser for Academic Excellence and Community Engagement at ExcellED Montessori Plus.
Killo brings more than 40 years of experience in both public and private school systems, including her most recent roles as a principal coach with the Archdiocese of San Antonio and lead evaluator for Cognia Early Learning accreditation.
“Sandi Killo is an expert educator beloved by parents and students alike,” said Melissa Zamora, ExcellED Montessori chief operating officer. “Her passion for children and learning, her leadership experience and her deep commitment to community make her a natural fit for this role.”
Killo has served in nearly every facet of education, from classroom teacher and instructional specialist to principal and administrator. She held leadership positions for more than a decade in Boerne ISD, including as principal of Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary.
Her experience also includes 11 years of teaching and administrative roles in Northside ISD and early work in Southwest ISD. In the private sector, she served five years in the Archdiocese of San Antonio, notably as principal of Notre Dame Catholic School in Kerrville and interim principal at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles School in Alamo Heights.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Killo earned her master’s degree in educational administration from UT-San Antonio. She also holds a mid-management certification and has completed leadership training through the South Texas Leadership Assessment Center and the Springfield Development Program.
As ExcellED’s adviser for academic excellence and community engagement, Killo will guide faculty development, support curriculum enhancement and foster partnerships with families and community stakeholders.
Rooted in Fair Oaks Ranch and closely tied to the Boerne area, she offers valuable insight into the needs of local families and schools.
