Brendan Lawrence Fluitt, 73, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sept. 10, 2025, in Boerne, Texas. He was born on Aug. 14, 1952, to Lawrence and Elsie Snoga Fluitt in San Antonio, Texas.
Brendan grew up in a close-knit family alongside his brothers Bradley and Lawrence II. He attended the Holy Name Catholic School before graduating from Central Catholic High School, where he excelled as a three-sport athlete in football, baseball, and track. He went on to earn his degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from Southwest Texas University in 1975. Brendan had a lifelong career in the computer and telecommunications industry serving businesses and school districts.
On June 26, 1976, Brendan married the love of his life, Martha Rakowitz, in Poth, Texas. Together they built a beautiful life spanning nearly five decades, raising three children who were the pride of his life: Becky (Aaron) Booth, Brendan II, and Patrick (Ashley) Fluitt. As “Grandpa,” he cherished his four grandchildren: Colin Wise, Walker Booth, and Elsie and Ethan Fluitt, who brought him immeasurable joy. Brendan was an avid outdoorsman who found peace in deer hunting, fishing, and enjoyed many rounds of golf with friends and family. Known for his wonderful sense of humor and generous heart, he was always ready with a joke to lighten the mood or a helping hand for anyone in need. He was an amazing grandfather who never missed an opportunity to support and celebrate his grandchildren. He also treasured family reunions with his many cousins.
Brendan was preceded in death by his father Lawrence; brother, Lawrence II; and nephew Mark.
He is survived by his devoted wife Martha; his three children and their spouses; his four grandchildren; his mother, Elsie; and his brother, Bradley and his wife Diane.
Brendan’s legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 19 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Panna Maria. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. with the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., also at the Church. Burial will follow at the Panna Maria Cemetery.
