Geneva Quarterly magazine scores high marks

BOERNE — The Geneva School of Boerne student-produced magazine, Geneva Quarterly, was named a Pacemaker finalist for the 20242025 school year by the National Scholastic Press Association.

Forty- one finalists were named representing 12 states as well as the UK. Pacemakers will be awarded at the JEA/NSPA fall convention in November in Nashville.

The magazine staff also earned excellent remarks from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in 51 areas, scoring 980 points out of 1,000 and earning a Gold Medalist rating.

“All glory to God for a successful year of Geneva Quarterly,” Geneva Quarterly adviser Emily Rawls said. “The joy is in the work itself, but the acknowledgement of our hard work to the publication is always a welcomed addition.

“I am very grateful for my students and the beautiful skills and creativity they brought to this volume,” Rawls added.

NSPA noted that specialty magazines are growing in popularity in high schools across the country.
