Peggy’s On The Green will conclude service at the historic Kendall Inn on Nov. 30, according to the restaurant's general manager.
The new owners of the Kendall Inn purchased the food and beverage operation and are transitioning it fully in-house.
Peggy's On The Green General Manager Scott Becker said this change ensures the historic hotel’s continued growth and deepens its connection to the Boerne community, while setting the stage for Chef Bohanan’s next era of culinary creativity and vision.
The change follows the inn’s recent ownership shift. Peggy’s departs on a high note, Becker said, recognized for its heritage cuisine, timeless hospitality and contribution to the Hill Country dining landscape, while the historic inn begins a new era under its new stewardship.
Opened in 2016 by chef/restaurateur Mark Bohanan, Peggy’s On The Green is an homage to his mother’s home cooking. It has offered contemporary interpretations of heritage dishes in a The Kendall Inn.
“Peggy’s has been a joyful gathering place, where anniversaries, proposals and everyday celebrations happened around the table,” said owner chef Mark Bohanan. “We’re deeply grateful to our guests, our team and the Boerne community for the constant support. This is a celebration of what we’ve built together."
While Peggy’s On The Green is concluding its time at the Kendall, Bohanan said the decision is not necessarily the end of its story. Bohanan said he and his team "remain deeply connected to Boerne and the Hill Country community." They are considering their next move and exploring other opportunities to share the hospitality and elevated cuisine that guests come to expect.
"Peggy’s On The Green extends heartfelt thanks to the community, guests, suppliers, and staff who brought its dining room to life," Becker stated in the release.
For the rest of the month, Peggy’s on the Green will continue to serve guests in the restaurant, on the patio and in the bar. In addition, reservations are still available for their infamous “Peggy’s Thanksgiving Dinner.”
