THE BOOKWORM

The library is celebrating the season with a full slate of festive programs designed to bring joy to readers of all ages. From elves and letters to Santa, to storytelling with Mrs. Claus and some tail-wagging Hanukkah fun, there’s something merry waiting for everyone this December.

Eye Spy Elf on the Shelf The Elf on the Shelf has taken up residence in the library — and this sneaky little helper loves to move around when no one’s looking.

Visit anytime between Dec. 1-19 to search for our hidden elf among the bookshelves. When littles find the hidden elf, they can stop by the desk to claim a sweet treat from our holiday treasure chest.

It’s a fun and festive scavenger hunt for families to enjoy during their visit.

Write a ‘Letter to Santa’ Santa’s magic mailbox has made a special stop at the library. Come into the library anytime between Dec. 1-19 to write a special letter to Santa and put it in our “North Pole Direct” mailbox.

Before we send the letters to the North Pole — just in time for Christmas — we will draw a lucky letter out of the magic mailbox. The writer of the letter will receive a Night Before Christmas Good Cheer Goody Basket, filled with cozy treats and holiday surprises.

Market Days Holiday

Fun with Mrs. Claus It’s Storytime with a sprinkle of North Pole magic — Join us at the Herff Farmhouse, 33 Herff Road, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 for some Christmas magic. Mrs. Claus will make a special appearance to share joyful holiday tales, sing festive songs and lead a simple holiday craft.

Families can enjoy a tasty seasonal treat before exploring the Herff Holiday Market. This program is perfect for children and families looking to make warm holiday memories together.

Santa’s Sweet Saturday Here comes Santa Claus, straight from the North Pole to the library!

Bring your little ones to the library on Saturday, Dec. 20 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. for a cheerful meet-and-greet with Santa, complete with a delicious cookie and a chance to snap a keepsake holiday photo.

Santa loves to hear about good deeds, favorite books and what’s on every child’s wish list. It’s one of our most beloved traditions and a wonderful way to share the spirit of the season.

Hanukkah Hounds

Join Mr. Perry from PJ Library of the Jewish Federation of San Antonio at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 22 for a special Hanukkah celebration featuring stories, crafts, and jelly donuts.

Plus, meet friendly pups from Boerne Animal Care Services, who will be joining the fun for some extra snuggles and smiles. This joyful program celebrates the warmth and togetherness of the season — four-legged friends included.
