The Boerne Area Historic Preservation Society presents George and Karen Short with its 2025 Building Award in November. The award is given for restoration, renovation, repair and preservation of a historic structure in the Boerne area. The Shorts have owned the historic 1874 Herrin House, situated on Upper Cibolo Creek Road, since 1996 and have overseen preservation of the home.
