With Christmas celebrations behind us and the New Year just around the corner, now is the perfect time to slow down, reset and look ahead to what’s next.
As families transition from holiday hustle to New Year routines, the Youth Department is taking a short pause from our regular weekly programs to recharge and prepare for an exciting year ahead. Now through Jan. 9, weekly youth programs will be on break.
We’ll be thrilled to start back up and welcome families back beginning Jan. 13, when Storytimes and other favorites return. First up, Bubbletime Bookworms.
While our regular schedule rests, the library still has plenty of opportunities for fun, learning, and connection during the holiday break. Come by and discover all we have to offer.

One meaningful and exciting resolution to consider is “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten.”
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a simple and fun way to initiate your children’s love for reading. Reading has long been associated as an early indicator of academic success. By beginning your child’s journey of reading early, you can help them gain the confidence necessary to become a strong reader.
Starting your “1,000 Books” journey is simple. This is a self-paced program. Come by the youth desk to pick up directions and your first 100 books counting sheet.
When you are done reading your first 100 books, return your sheet and your child will get their name placed on our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten bookshelf display.
For every 100 books read, their name will move up the bookshelf, and they will receive fun prizes along the way.
