Boerne’s updated residential garbage and recycling collection schedule takes effect Monday, officials announced.
Garbage and recycling pickup will move to the same day.
According to a news release, for most customers, recycling day will simply shift to the current garbage collection day.
For others, the two collections will be moved to the same day, “but it could be a different day than your current collection schedule,” the release stated.
The update is designed to improve efficiency for residents and the city’s trash contractor, WM-Waste Management & Recycling Services, also known as WM, officials said.
The company regularly conducts waste and routing audits to “ensure efficient and reliable service with minimal disruption to customers,” the city stated in the release.
Boerne Utilities is working with WM to provide maps of collection days and additional information.
Customers with questions can call Boerne Utilities customer care and billing at 830-2499511, option 1.
Residents and customers who live in the Herff Ranch subdivision will have both their recycling and garbage collection moved to Thursday, regardless of their current collection schedule.
The first collection for Herff Ranch on the new schedule is Jan. 8.
Recycling and garbage carts should be at least 3 feet apart and 3 feet away from obstacles including trees, parked cars or mailboxes, WM reminded customers.
Carts should be placed at the curb the night before your collection day, with the wheels of the cart toward the house, WM officials said.
