Norberto Samaniego Herrera
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved dad Norberto (Roberto) Samaniego Herrera, who departed this life on Dec. 21, 2025, at the age of 77.
Roberto was born on April 9, 1948, in Ciudad Salinas, Coahuila, Mexico. During his life, he touched the hearts and made a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Roberto was a loving spouse married to Inez Garcia for 40-plus years, and was a parent and friend who accepted and loved her family as his own. He worked for years repairing heavy equipment followed by many years at Catto Gage ranch. Quite the joker, he often offered to whip up some “papas con armadillo” to the grandkids and enjoyed his Miller Lite as he tended his fabulous BBQs.
Roberto is survived by his daughter Roberta; sons Tom Hernandez (BB); Rick Jonas Sr (Susan); Charlie Jonas (Sharon); Gerald Jonas; and Patrick Jonas (Angie); and many grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his bride Inez, sons Marty Hernandez, Richard Jonas, and daughter Cindy Helms. He will be truly missed by the staff and residents of Song Bird senior home in Brownwood where he always wore a smile and emptied residents’ garbage cans daily and helped with small tasks.
Graveside services will be at Boerne Cemetery on Jan. 6, 2026, at 11 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather and remember, honor, and share stories of a kind, truly sweet, caring man.
