BOERNE — In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Kendall County Democratic Party will host a ceremony at the gazebo at Boerne’s Main Plaza from 10-11 a.m. Monday.
Hill Country Family Services Director Bryce Boddie will speak at the event, and a local choir will sing. Everyone is welcome to attend and to bring their signs, flags and T-shirts.
“My favorite quote from Dr. King is, ‘Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.’ Our great country has taken some significant steps backward with regards to civil rights recently,” said Laura Bray, Kendall County Democratic Party chair.
“I encourage everyone to take this day to reflect on the actions we will all take to restore full civil rights to everyone in the U.S.,” Bray added.
The Kendall County Democratic Party is committed to building a more inclusive community, Bray said, fighting for healthcare for all, public education, the environment and voting rights, among current issues.
