26-5A action
Boerne High opened 26-5A action Tuesday night against Wagner and trounced the Thunderbirds in boys and girls soccer.
The BHS boys were home and tamed the T-Birds, 7-2, while the Lady Hounds were on the road and whipped Wagner, 10-0.
Boerne played Kerrville Friday with the boys on the road and the girls at home. After that, they face Veterans Memorial Tuesday.
Varsity Boys
Boerne rolled to seven goals in its home opener and JP Santa Maria recorded a hat trick in Tuesday’s contest and finished with 3 goals; Shae Gonzales added 2 goals, while James Canavan and Shane Garcia knocked in single goals each.
All seven Greyhound goals were assisted after Brady Guerrero recorded 2 assists, while Gonzales, Garrett Cox, Santa Maria, Kolton Fischer and Nolan Stevens all had single assists.
The Boerne boys are 3-1 overall and start district 1-0. After visiting Kerrville Tivy Friday, they host Veterans Memorial Tuesday.
Varsity Girls
Two different Lady Greyhounds finished with hat tricks after they scored three goals each.
Sophia Namvar and Mahaley Merkens both netted 3 goals apiece, while Eliana Bove, Bella Pettet, Ocean Valenciano and Molly Miller all finished with one goal.
Sadie Parker recorded 2 assists, while Merkens and Valenciano recorded 1 assist each.
The Boerne girls are 5-2 overall and 1-0 in district. They were home Friday to host Kerrville Tivy and visit Veterans Memorial Tuesday.
