Boerne Champion made the short drive to Spring Branch last Friday for a girls basketball game and fell to the Lady Rangers.
Smithson Valley won the district contest 66-34 and dropped the Lady Chargers to 11-18 overall. Champion is 3-7 in district and tied for seventh place with six games left in 26-5A.
Champion was off Tuesday and hosts Alamo Heights Friday. After that, they visit Boerne High next Tuesday.
Wagner is 10-0 and in first place, while Boerne is 8-2 and in second place. Kerrville Tivy is 6-4, Smithson Valley is 5-4, Pieper is 5-5, followed by New Braunfels at 4-5. Champion and Alamo Heights are 3-7, followed by Veterans Memorial at 0-10.
