Fair Oaks begins constructing Strategic Plan

FAIR OAKS RANCH — Fair Oaks Ranch has begun the formulation of its 2026 Strategic Plan, designed to incorporate the perspectives of residents, business leaders and stakeholders to ensure future planning aligns with local needs, values, and aspirations.

City leadership Tuesday held the first of a series of conversational meetings to identify what residents value most about the town, the challenges the community faces, and potential solutions to address them.

The city on Jan. 16 launched the Strategic Planning Engagement Portal, which features the first in a series of open-ended questionnaires for public feedback. This platform will serve as a primary tool for gathering community ideas and experiences to guide government priorities and investments.

The city held two Strategic Plan Open Houses Jan. 20 at the Fair Oaks Ranch Police training room, 7286 Dietz Elkhorn, to begin to inform residents of the goals and purpose of the strategic plan, while providing residents the opportunity to speak directly with city leadership and provide feedback on community priorities.

The planning process is divided into five distinct phases, moving from initial discovery and issue identification to the development of a draft plan.

A steering committee in February will use resident feedback to begin forming emerging goals and objectives.

A draft version of the plan then is expected to be released for public review by early April, allowing Fair Oaks Ranch residents a three-week window to provide final comments before the document is presented to City Council for a vote.

Mayor Greg Maxton said residential input is the foundation of this plan, ensuring that “the decisions made today reflect the unique character of Fair Oaks Ranch for years to come.”

City Council is scheduled to officially adopt the 2026 Strategic Action Plan at its May 7 meeting. Following adoption, the city will implement a formal tracking system through ClearGov, which will allow residents to monitor the progress of specific plan elements in real-time to ensure transparency and accountability.

Residents are encouraged to sign up for notifications through the city’s website to stay informed about upcoming engagement dates and project updates. For details, go to: www. fairoaksranchtx.org or contact City Hall at 210-698-0900.
