So far, the Boerne High boys basketball team is the only squad to beat Veterans Memorial in 26-5A when they did it at Greyhound Gym on Dec. 9 (46-40).
The Greyhounds were hoping for a repeat performance Tuesday night when they visited the Patriots for a second-round district contest, but Veterans Memorial was able to split their season series.
The Patriots claimed a 55-39 win over the Greyhounds on Tuesday. BHS hosted Smithson Valley Friday and hoping to snap a 5-game skid in 26-5A. After that, Boerne (13-14 overall and 3-6 in district) makes the short drive to Champion to face the Chargers.
