Pair of artists joining Carriage House Gallery lineup

CELEBRATING THE ARTS

It’s an open invitation to help the Carriage House Gallery welcome two new artist partners, Danna Tartaglia and David Durwood McCormick, during an artist’s reception from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the gallery, 110 Rosewood Ave.

Enjoy wine and light bites while viewing beautiful art from the Hill Country and hear the inspiration behind the creativity from some of the friendliest gallery artists off Main.

Tartaglia, who has been making art since she could hold a crayon, discovered oil painting in high school. Art catapulted her into new worlds of creativity. Motion and emotion get Tartaglia’s attention, and her challenge is to express that in paint.

Nature and animals are her favorite subjects, and she said she never tires of the many moods of horses. Among Tartaglia’s many experiences, she has owned fine art galleries on both the West Coast, and more recently in The Woodlands, Houston.

Working with artists has been a highlight of her business career, having represented many that she admired.

“Painting requests are welcome, pet portraits are my forte, and if you ask me to paint a horse, you will get a huge smile,” she said.

Tartaglia is happy to have made the move to Boerne in November, and looks forward to being a part of the Carriage House Gallery.

Durwood McCormick is somewhat of a mystery — a self-described digital artist who works in acrylics. We will have to make our introductions on Feb. 7 at the artists’ reception at the Carriage House Gallery to find out more about the artist McCormick.
