Boerne Champion battled Alamo Heights in district soccer last Thursday and neither lost to the Mules. The matches were moved up a day to stay ahead of the weather.
The Champion boys beat the Mules, while the Lady Chargers tied Alamo Heights. Both played Boerne High Tuesday and take on Pieper Friday.
Varsity Boys
Champion went up 3-0 on the Mules, but AH tried to rally and knocked in two goals to make it interesting, but the Chargers prevailed, 3-2.
The Chargers are 6-3 and 2-1 in district entering Tuesday’s match at Boerne High. They will host Pieper on Friday.
Grayson Moran, Bryce Knell and Will Hankins all tallied goals for the Chargers, while Knell and Kefe Omokuru both had assists.
Varsity Girls
Both the Chargers and Mules tallied one goal apiece and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
It’s Champion’s first tie of the season and leaves them at 5-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in district.
Daylynn Carpenter recorded the team’s only goal, while Sarah Blakeney had the assist.
The Lady Chargers hosted Boerne on Tuesday and will visit Pieper on Friday.
