Lady Hounds run past Rangers, 52-26

The Boerne High girls basketball team hit double digits in all four quarters last Friday at Smithson Valley and went on to defeat the Lady Rangers, 52-36.

BHS is 10-2 in district (22-7) and hosted Champion Tuesday. They’ll visit Alamo Heights on Friday.

Boerne was up 13-6 after one quarter and held the Rangers to 6 in the second, while they scored 14 for the 27-12 lead at the break.

The Lady Hounds won the third period, 13-9, for the 40-21 advantage going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Rangers had their best stanza of the night in the fourth and tallied 15, while BHS scored 12.

Sutherlin Menn led the team with 18 points, Emery Reyes added 8, Addison Palluch and Oleyvia Ramos both scored 7, Addison Saur tallied 4, Hartlee Menn and Melia Gonzalez both netted 3 and JT Hernandez added 2.

Palluch and Hernandez both grabbed 5 rebounds each, with Hernandez collecting all five of her boards on the offensive end.

Sutherlin Menn had 4 steals, while Saur and Ramos both dished out 3 assists.
