Tuesday’s second-round district meeting between Boerne High and Boerne Champion was decided early after the Lady Greyhounds raced out to a 30-0 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Boerne went on to post an 83-26 victory over Champion at Greyhound Gym and knocked down 14 3-pointers in the contest.
The win also clinched a playoff berth for BHS and improved their district record to 11-2 (23-7 overall), while Champion drops to 4-8 in 26-5A (12-19 overall).
Chargers coach Jason Sanders was looking for career-win 300, but Boerne’s 30-0 start in the opening stanza kept it from happening.
BHS took the second quarter, 13-8, and held a 43-8 lead at halftime.
The Chargers dropped in 8 in the third and 10 in the fourth, while the Greyhounds netted 22 in the third and 18 in the fourth.
The Menn sisters paced Boerne after Sutherlin Menn knocked down seven 3-pointers and tallied 23 points and Hartlee Menn finished with 20 points after scoring 10 in the opening quarter.
Addison Palluch netted 11 and Melia Gonzalez added 10 points as four BHS players were in double figures. Shaylee Allen and Emery Reyes both scored 5, Oleyvia Ramos added 4, Addison Saur hit a 3 and Addison Neal chipped in with 2.
Jenna Koepke led the Chargers in scoring after she tallied 9 points, Kylie Baum netted 6 points, Lorena Barreiro added 5, Jordyn Davis recorded 4 and Brielle Burdick chipped in with 2 points.
