The UIL announced its new football districts for the next two years and there will be a lot of changes for all the teams.
Champion remained a 5A-DI school and will be in with a couple of Austin area schools, Anderson, McCallum, Bastrop and Manor. Lockhart and Lehman are also in the district, while the Chargers stayed with defending state champs Smithson Valley and Seguin in 13-5A DI.
Boerne High moved into one of the toughest 5A-DII districts in the state. District 13-5A DII includes Liberty Hill, New Braunfels and Alamo Heights. Joining the district is the new school Liberty Hill Legacy Ranch and New Braunfels’ new school Long Creek. Veterans Memorial and Alamo Heights remain in the district.
Comfort has fluctuated between Region I and Region IV and is in Region IV for the next two years. The Bobcats join Blanco, Karnes City, Nixon Smiley, Poth, SA Young Men’s Leadership and Stockdale in District 15 3A-DII.
The volleyball and basketball districts look a little different. To see where the Hounds, Chargers and Bobcats/Deer will play, look in this weekend’s Boerne Star.
