Greyhound boys, girls place 12th at regionals
SAN ANTONIO — The Boerne Champion swim/ dive program almost made it a complete sweep at this weekend’s regional meet after the girls won the region and the boys were second in the final standings.
Boerne High was also at the meet and both teams finished 12th.
The Lady Chargers tallied 311 points to win the region over Austin LASA (292), while the Champion boys were second with 345 points behind Austin LASA (451).
Both Greyhound teams finished 12th after the Lady Greyhounds recorded 103 points and the BHS boys scored 33 points.
The top two finishers in each race automatically make it to state and others have a chance at a wildcard. For more on the regional meet and to see who qualified for state, be sure to check this weekend’s Boerne Star.
The UIL 5A state meet will be Friday-Saturday, Feb. 20-21, in Austin at the Lee and Joe Jamail swim center.
