Animal rescue group gala raises $50,000

FREDERICKSBURG — Hill Country Animal Rescue (HCAR) raised over $50,000 in support of its Healing Hearts Program during the organization’s asecond annual Mardi Gras Masquerade Gala on February 6.

The Healing Hearts Program provides specialized medical care, and extended recovery support for animals who have experienced trauma, neglect, or serious medical conditions. Funds raised at the gala will directly expand the program’s capacity to take in higher-need animals and provide the intensive care they require.

“This community showed up in a powerful way for some of our most vulnerable animals,” said Andrew Davis, Executive Director of HCAR. “Healing Hearts exists for animals who need more than basic shelter. They need time, treatment, and trauma-informed care. Raising over $50,000 means we can say yes to more of those cases and give these animals throughout Hill Country the second chances they deserve.”

The Mardi Gras Masquerade Gala brought together community members, sponsors, and supporters for an elegant evening featuring a silent auction, dinner, a specialty cocktail and live entertainment, all in support of animals whose recovery journeys depend on specialized resources.

HCAR extends its sincere thanks to all of the event sponsors, donors, in-kind partners, volunteers, and guests whose generosity and commitment made this event and its impact possible.

HCAR is a private, no-kill nonprofit serving the Texas Hill Country. Through programs like Healing Hearts, the organization provides lifesaving care for animals with complex medical needs, relying on community support to fund this critical work.
