CELEBRATING THE ARTS
Boerne Community Theatre Teen Troupe presents “Game of Tiaras,” by Don Zolidis, Feb. 20 through March 1 at 907 E. Blanco Road in Boerne. Wheelchair accessible.
This is an over- thetop crazy comical farce combining elements of “Game of Thrones” craziness, and popular Disney princesses. Blended with a bit of ridiculousness, you will find this play total irony and a mockery of several of the theatre/ film forms mentioned. It is the story of King Lear -- meant to be pure fun, certainly not meant to be taken seriously.
Patricia Hausman serves as director of Youth Programs at the theater, and oversees the Teen Troupe and associated drama camps. The Troupe, designed for ages 13-19, produces two shows annually and participates in Texas Nonprofit Theatres youth conferences; Cody Hausman serves as assistant director.

A quirky retired judge spends his days enjoying whimsical hobbies like ballooning, fishing in a dry river, and writing nonsense, much to the concern of his daughter. Believing he’s gone mad, she teams up with a devious lawyer to take control of his estate and become his guardian.
But when he appears at his sanity hearing dressed as a magician, he turns the tables by pulling a few surprise rabbits out of the hat.
