Boerne Champion continued 26-5A soccer action on Tuesday against Smithson Valley and the Rangers swept the Chargers. Champion was off Friday and will play Alamo Heights on Tuesday.
Varsity Boys
For the first time in district action, the Champion boys were kept off the scoreboard after Smithson Valley recorded the 2-0 win at Charger Field.
The Rangers held a 1-0 lead and added a late goal with less than five minutes in the match to make it 2-0.
Champion had a few chances but couldn’t capitalize on any of their opportunities. They’ll visit Alamo Heights on Tuesday.
Varsity Girls
The Lady Chargers’ three-match win streak was snapped Tuesday by No. 1 state-ranked Smithson Valley after the Rangers recorded the 3-1 win.
Champion slips to 4-5-1 in district (8-5-1 overall) and was off Friday. They’ll host Alamo Heights on Tuesday.
Macy O’Dell tallied Champion’s only goal in Tuesday’s match vs. Smithson Valley.
