Comfort High played in the Three Rivers baseball tournament last weekend and went 2-1-1 at the event.
The Bobcats are 3-1-1 overall and visited Sabinal on Tuesday before playing in the Kenedy Tournament this coming weekend.
Comfort opened the event with a 2-2 tie against Refugio on Friday. The Bobcats trailed 2-0 and tallied both its runs during its last at bats in the bottom of the fourth thanks to back-to-back triples and a single to avoid the loss.
The Bobcats were involved in another close game, but dropped this contest to Kenedy, 4-3. Comfort tried to rally late like they did against Refugio after falling behind 4-1 by the second inning. The Cats pushed in two in the top of the fourth, but that’s where the comeback ended.
Comfort closed out the tourney with a pair of wins on Saturday. The Bobcats beat up on Cotulla, 13-3, and scored 9 runs in the top of the fourth frame.
CHS basically did the same thing in its next contest against George West. It was tied 4-4, but the Bobcats exploded for 9 runs again, this time in the top of the fifth, for the 13-4 victory.
