Boerne Champion dropped its first game at the Abilene softball tournament last weekend but bounced back to win its next four contests to finish 4-1 at the event.
Champion’s 4-1 performance in Abilene leaves them 6-2 overall. They were at Antonian Tuesday and host Alamo Heights Friday as they continue district play.
The Chargers opened the tourney with a 4-1 setback to Abilene last Thursday.
Champion played later that day and picked up their first win at the tourney with a 5-1 victory over Eastland.
The Chargers returned on Friday and defeated Paschal in a shootout, 14-12, behind 16 hits, including six that went for extra bases.
Champion started out Friday with a 16-0 run-rule victory over El Paso Austin and had 10 hits in the game.
In its final game of the tourney on Saturday, the Chargers won a close one over Coronado, 6-3.
