The Geneva School of Boerne baseball team played in the Center Point Tournament last weekend and took first place at the event.
Geneva went 2-1 at the tourney to earn the title and had two players named to the all-tournament team, Gray Bruner and Crockett Srp.
The Eagles opened on Thursday with a 12-4 win over the Cornerstone JV, 12-4. Later that day, Geneva suffered their only setback at the tourney after they were edged by Medina, 6-5, with a walk-off fielder’s choice to break a 5-5 tie.
Geneva returned on Saturday and defeated Yorktown, 19-1, to secure the title. The Eagles tallied 9 runs in the first inning and scored 10 runs in the second in a game that only went 2.5 innings.
The setback to Medina is their first of the season and leaves them 6-1 overall. The Eagles were at home Tuesday to face the San Antonio Wolverines home school and will play in a tournament this coming weekend.
