Greyhounds host track, field meet at BISD Stadium

Boerne High hosted its annual track and field meet last week and the Lady Greyhounds finished second with 114 points, while the BHS boys placed seventh with 40 points.

The Hounds were back at it this week at the Southwest Dragon Invitational.

RESULTS (top 6) Varsity Girls

Bella Pettet came in 3rd in the 100 (12.51), while Sutton Amerman (58.13) and Presley Merkens (58.23) went 1-2 in the 400.

Merkens also captured 1st in the 800 (2:16) and Sutton Amerman was 2nd (2:18) to help the Hounds go 1-2 in another event.

Prisca Igbo took 2nd in the 100 hurdles (15.25) and Averley Bruce came in 5th (17.21), while Igbo won the 300 hurdles (47.73) and Bruce finished 5th (49.76). The BHS girls were 4th in the 4x100 relay (50.03), came in 3rd in the 4x200 (1:47) and placed 2nd in the 4x400 (4:05).

Mallory Miles finished 4th in the high jump (5-2) and Bella Pettet won the long jump (16-9.75).

Varsity Boys

William Freeman placed 5th in the 100 (11.10), Aaron Garcia took 3rd in the 1600 (4:25) and was 2nd in the 3200 (10:00), while Joseph Hernandez finished 5th in the 300 hurdles (43.28).

In relay events, the 4x100 came in 5th (44.14) and the 4x200 placed 6th (1:36).

In field events, Noah Blomqvist took 3rd in the discus (142-10), while Blomqvist was also 3rd in the shot put (50-9.5) and Cash Gatlin was 4th (48-1).
