The Comfort High boys basketball team faced a long drive and a tough opponent in last week’s second-round playoff game.

Comfort played No. 20 state-ranked Holliday last Friday in Comanche, and the Eagles defeated the Bobcats, 70-50.

The Cats end their season at 24-11 and will graduate three seniors, Alexis Padilla, Jovani Zapata and Jackson Dear.

Holliday (29-4) held a 21-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and then outscored the Bobcats in the second stanza, 15-11, for the 36-20 halftime lead.

Comfort played much better in the third and tallied 19 points, but the Eagles kept pace with 20 points and increased their lead to 56-39. In the fourth quarter, Holliday put the game away with 14 points, while the Bobcats scored 11 for the 20-point victory.
